Hi, I am Sebestyén!

Founder of Bovec SUP and paddleboarder by soul. Even as a small kid, my parents couldn’t get me out of the water. And it stayed with me til now.:-)

I have been guiding whitewater kayaking and rafting since 2012, but when paddleboarding came into the picture, my future path was clear. I love seeking hidden places on the water to explore, and as whitewater is my natural habitat, I had to try my SUP on the river. Since then, whitewater paddleboarding has been my biggest passion and challenge!

After seeing so many people renting paddleboards and struggling with maintaining balance and paddling straight, I decided to change it. I made an ISA SUP instructor certification to follow the highest standards, and we opened the Bovec SUP door as a team of two. Our expectations were not high, as we started in the rough year of 2020. The future of tourism was uncertain, and the world faced different challenges. But here we are, a few years later, guiding hundreds of people through the emerald waters of the Soča Valley and living our dream!

P. S. I believe that there are no untalented people for sports, but only unskilled guides. I enjoy sharing my experience and love for paddleboarding, and I am sure that I will make you fall in love with it as well.:-)

Meet our team

Veronika

Veronika is a marketing wizard, back office help, and sometimes a shuttle driver as well. She is mostly the first person you will talk to when reaching Bovec SUP. As a content marketing specialist, she worked with some of the biggest brands worldwide. But it has just never felt right for her. One day, she decided to change her path, packed her backpack, and left the city office to explore the world. Thanks to Sebi, she ended up in the Soča Valley, discovered paddleboarding, and became an integral part of Bovec SUP.

Poca

With over 17 years of experience as a whitewater rafting guide, Poca has built her life around water. She worked as a SUP guide on the Croatian coast and later in Austria and Switzerland on both flatwater and whitewater. She joined our team as a flatwater and whitewater SUP guide, bringing a wealth of knowledge and confidence to every trip. A true waterwoman. You are always in safe hands with her.

Lili

Lili came to Bovec for a rafting tour, but fell in love with the Soca Valley… and her rafting guide as well. So she left her corporate job behind and moved to Bovec years ago. She started working as a shuttle driver and later joined our team, while following her new passion for the water. After earning her guide license, she now works both as a shuttle driver and a flatwater SUP guide. Calm, positive, and always ready to help. Her excitement to paddle is strongly contiguous.
